Spring is coming - so we went to the zoo!!!

Yesterday was a picture perfect spring day and we were lucky enough to have Nick for the whole day, so mommy packed us up and took us to the zoo. We both had a great time and can't wait to go back.

This little boy LOVED animals just like I do. His daddy have us both a quarter to put in the wishing well for the butterflies. It was nice to meet such a nice family.
Of course, I wanted to do it again, so mommy gave Nick and I more money to put in the well.

Just us guys checking out the butterflies.

Nick was making macaw noises - it was fun!

Aren't the birds beautiful?!?!?!

Hanging out on a giant jungle rock
I loved playing in the water and tossing pennies in.

Nick and I thought the turtles were super cool.

I couldn't believe that there was a man in the snake house - he was getting it all cleaned up for a new reptile's home. I thought it was pretty funny =)

This is a newer animal to the zoo - at least we think so because we have never seen it before. Its called a Sichuan Takin or a Goat Antelope. He came right up to us and was so cute.

Here is Nick chilling out just like the white-tailed deer behind him.

I thought the monkeys were hilarious.

Nick and I ran around pretending we were in a jungle and tried to swing from the huge roots.

The giraffes were still in the indoor exhibit and it was awesome to see them up close.

This is Nick and I checking out the newest addition to the giraffe family. Her name is Raspberry and she is adorable!

This little guy reminded us of Mocha. Its an animal called a Puku.

The best moment was when we went to the polar bear exhibit. One of the care takers told my mommy that he was getting ready to feed the polar bears and told us where to go. When we got there we couldn't see any polar bears, but in about 5 minutes they came diving in after their food. It was incredible to watch them float around and swim after their fish and berries.

Nick was stretching his head back to watch the whole thing - way to cool!

When the Polar Bears were all done the seals came along to finish up the food.
We had a fantastic day and I can't wait to go back. When we got home Nick and I both fell asleep. Mom finally had to wake me up for dinner and bathtime so that I would sleep again through the night. I was zonked out!

mmm mmm good

I spent some time with my Grandma and Papa and was so happy to end the evening with "Frog Spit!" It was a lemon lime sherbet push up that was very very yummy!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my friend Hannah!!!

My friend Hannah had her birthday party last Saturday and it was a lot of fun! The whole theme was ladybugs - too cute. Here are some pics from the big day....

Mommy helped me wrap her presents so they looked kind of like ladybugs.

Time to open presents!

Fun Games!!!

The cutest little ladybug ever!!!!

Winter Fun in the Sun

Took a break for the ordinary this week and headed out to the park at Daddy's job. It was a picture perfect, sunny day (although still chilly), but I loved every second of fresh air play time!!!

Wrapping it up!

I totally missed last weeks wrap up - we were out celebrating so I guess that is my excuse =)

Praises and Hallelujahs - Recently, we had learned that our former High School Principal's wife had a stroke (Anne Ackley). Obviously, this was scary for the entire family and for everyone in their life (like the SCS community). We are so thankful to be able to report that while she still has a healing journey to go through, God is restoring her health in unprecedented timing and she is now recovering at home - Yeah God!!!!
Recipe Pick of the Week - Meatloaf Pinwheel

1 lb. 90/10 ground sirloin

1 tsp. pesto

1 tsp. minced garlic

2 tbsp. worchestire sauce

1 egg

1/2 c. italian bread crumbs

1/2 - 3/4 c. oats

Mix it all up!!! Roll it out (I use a cutting board) to about 1/2 inch think and spread mashed potatoes on top (or you can put a spinach and mushroom mix in place of the potato) - roll it up (that's how you get the pinwheel look) and bake for about 45 minutes or so at 350 - then pour a can or jar of beef gravy on top and top it off with some french fried onion rings - back another 10 minutes and ...mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm good - dinner is served!

What I'm Reading - Power of a Praying Wife - I have never taken this long to get through it, but I am trying to really digest and apply as I go along...it is challenging but very worth it!

God's Powerful Word of the Week - Psalm 46:10 - "Be still and know that I am God" - LOVE IT- it gives me chills everytime I think and say it!!!!

This Week's Weather - GLORIOUS!!!!! I L-O-V-E the sunshine and the slightly warmer air!!!

Pic of the Week - I made a pistachio cake for my MOPS meeting this week and have recently pulled out my kitchenaid mixer to give it more use
- Joshua LOVED the cake and the mixer!
TV Time this week - The olympics are over which means I should be getting to bed earlier - that hasn't been happening though....I did manage to catch the first episode of The Marriage Ref and I have to admit .... I cracked up!!!
Website of the Week - http://www.etsy.com/ I really enjoy checking out the latest crafty ideas.
Song of the Week - "Glorious" - Newsboys featuring Michael Tait ---this is soooo good!

weird

Not sure what is up with blogger today...it is posting all of the blogs in a very unusual way. Hmmm....wonder what is going on???

I love my Aunna

Here are a few pics of some things that have been going on with me and my Aunna:

For Valentine's Day I made her a heart shaped garden stone with my hand print in it...she didn't get it right away because the first one didn't turn out (my mommy hid it and it didn't have room to breathe and air out so it had some mold on it - yuck). But, this one was perfect and she loved it!

Here we are just snuggling - Gotta love it!

Aunna helped me build a great snowman. We put peanuts and corn on it for the birds and squirrels to enjoy! I am very proud of it, but sad that it is melting now.

Last week Aunna's truck stopped working as soon as she turned onto my street. So, mommy and I went to help her - I was going to take some tape to "fix it" for her . Mommy used her car to push Aunna's truck closer to our house....then a tow truck came to take it away. It was very cool...I watched the whole thing while eating a bowl of popcorn!

SMOOTHIES!!!

When I woke up this morning I REALLY wanted a smoothie for breakfast. They are soooo good, soooo healthy, and better yet....soooooo easy to make!
3 ice cubes
1/4 c. water
berries
pineapple
banana
magic bullet
put everything in the magic bullet and let it "smoothify" Delicious!!!

Baking and Cooking like crazy!

Mom and I have been busy trying out some new recipes lately. We made "Rolo" cookies last night and they are sooooo yummy! We are going to try to save some for MOPS tomorrow, but it is hard to stay out of them =)

Mrs. Becky also gave us a recipe for homemade pizza dough in the bread maker. We made this last week and LOVED it!!!! I had fun putting everything on the pizza and more fun eating it up!

It's the little things in life...like a tablecloth!

This post is from my mommy----

I love having a tablecloth on my table, but I don't like that I either have to use a vinyl one or deal with the pretty fabric ones getting messed up after one meal. Well, I found the PERFECT solution!!!! Bed, Bath, and Beyond sells a "Laminated Fabric Tablecloth" that is 100% cotton, it looks like fabric but wipes up like vinyl - gotta love it! We tested it out this morning and -voila - it really works. Liquid just pools up and food wipes right off. Can't wait to pick up more of these great find with my 20% off coupons!!!
